A new chapter has officially begun for Gabonese businesses. Following his election as president of the Federation of Gabonese Enterprises (FEG) on June 12, Alain-Claude Kouakoua formally installed his Executive Bureau this Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Libreville. This revitalized team is set to lead the organization from 2026 to 2029, armed with a clear mandate: to modernize Gabon’s national economy.

To realize these ambitious objectives, the newly appointed president has assembled a group of highly experienced professionals. The Executive Bureau will benefit from the strategic insights of two high-caliber advisors, Charles Tchen and Seydou Kane.

Alongside them, thirteen vice-presidents have been assigned to oversee critical sectors of the Gabonese economy. Notable appointments include Léod Paul Batolo, who will head the Mining Industry, and Christophe Blanc, tasked with steering the vital Oil and Gas sector. Isabelle Essonghé assumes responsibility for Trade and Services, while Éric Boundono is charged with propelling Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and the Digital Economy. From healthcare to taxation, and extending to the timber industry and logistics, every segment of economic activity now has dedicated leadership to confront competitiveness challenges.

Competence and collective action as driving forces

Far from merely outlining an organizational chart, Alain-Claude Kouakoua underscored that these selections were based on rigorous criteria of competence, complementarity, and effectiveness. The primary goal is to ensure a highly cohesive management of the Federation’s priorities. For the leader of the employers’ federation, the success of this three-year term will hinge on a resolutely collegial governance, guided by accountability, solidarity, and continuous dialogue.

This new executive team is expected to commence work swiftly. Its core mission involves streamlining interactions between the public and private sectors, while simultaneously guiding enterprises through the essential structural reforms necessary to enhance the business climate.

Over sixty years of employer commitment

This transition marks another significant milestone in the institution’s rich history. Founded in September 1959 as UNIGABON, later evolving into the Gabonese Employers’ Confederation (CPG), the organization adopted its current identity as FEG in October 2022. More than ever, the Federation stands as an indispensable link connecting businesses, public authorities, and international partners, driven by an unwavering commitment: to stimulate investment and foster the creation of future employment opportunities.
