Chad firmly rejects fresh claims of destabilization plot against Central African Republic
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chad has strongly refuted fresh allegations suggesting that N’Djamena is plotting to destabilize the neighboring Central African Republic (CAR).
Over the weekend, the official spokesperson for the ministry, Ibrahim Adam Mahamat, issued a statement categorically denying the existence of any subversive initiative targeting the sovereignty of the CAR.
Chad’s diplomatic corps condemned these claims as an orchestrated disinformation campaign designed to tarnish the country’s international standing and disrupt its diplomatic relations with the CAR.
In a strongly worded response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for accountability, urging all actors—media outlets and social media users alike—to prioritize verified information and abandon unfounded accusations.
The statement emphasized that Chad has never, does not, and will never engage in any form of destabilization against a neighboring state. The country’s diplomatic stance remains unwavering: Chad fully respects the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference, recognizing that regional stability is intrinsically linked to its own.
Under the leadership of President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, Chad continues to uphold these values, reinforcing its commitment to peace and stability across the Sahel and Central Africa.
Despite these denials, Chad has repeatedly faced accusations from neighboring states and international observers, particularly regarding alleged support for armed factions, including the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have been engaged in conflict with the Sudanese Armed Forces since mid-April 2023.
