The leadership of the Togolese Electricity Company (CEET) has undergone a significant shift. General Director Débo-K’mba Barandao has been removed from his position following consistent reports.
While no formal announcement has clarified the reasons behind this decision, the move coincides with recurring challenges the CEET continues to face in maintaining reliable electricity supply and service quality across the national grid.
First appointed in March 2022, Débo-K’mba Barandao was tasked with spearheading multiple reforms within the state-owned utility provider. His tenure was characterized by efforts to restructure both organizational and operational frameworks.
The CEET remains a pivotal player in Togo’s energy sector, yet it has long grappled with persistent issues such as frequent power outages and the pressing need to modernize its infrastructure.
At this stage, no details have been shared regarding a potential successor. A new appointment is anticipated in the coming days to ensure seamless continuity in the company’s operations.
