UK and Morocco forge stronger strategic partnership
The recent visit by UK Minister of State for International Trade Chris Bryant to Rabat has marked another milestone in the strengthening of UK-Morocco relations, positioning Morocco as a key strategic partner for London.
Speaking at a press conference following his meetings with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Bryant highlighted that current trade between the two nations stands at approximately £4.5 billion. He expressed the UK’s ambition to double this figure within the next five to seven years.
The UK views Morocco as a land of immense opportunity and is committed to deepening economic ties. Bryant emphasized that Morocco’s strategic location and dynamic economy make it an ideal partner for future collaborations.
Beyond trade, the UK is keen to work with Morocco as a strategic partner in major sporting events. With a delegation of over 50 companies specializing in sports event management, Bryant attended the Morocco-UK Business Forum held on June 2-3, 2026. Discussions also covered the upcoming 2030 World Cup, where both nations are expected to collaborate closely.
The fourth session of the Morocco-UK Association Council is also scheduled to take place, further solidifying the partnership between the two countries.
