Joao Palhinha’s Transfer Saga Continues
The German football giant has been linked to a possible transfer of its 31-year-old midfielder Joao Palhinha, who joined the club in 2024 on a lucrative deal.
Benfica, the Portuguese club Palhinha has been with since his youth days, is reportedly interested in signing him on a permanent deal. The Portuguese giants are said to be willing to offer 20 million euros plus five million euros in bonuses.
The move would not only strengthen Benfica’s midfield but also bring an end to the speculation surrounding Palhinha’s future at Bayern Munich.
Palhinha’s stint at Bayern Munich has been marked by inconsistency, with the Portuguese midfielder struggling to break into the team. He was loaned out to Tottenham Hotspur last summer but failed to impress.
Despite this, Palhinha remains a talented player who could bring stability and creativity to Benfica’s midfield. If the transfer happens, it would mark another departure for Bayern Munich, following Alexander Nübel, Daniel Peretz, Maurice Krattenmacher, and Jonah Kusi-Asare.
