Chad government reviews two-year progress of state program
N’Djaména hosted a pivotal technical validation workshop from June 2 to 5, organized by the General Secretariat of the Government. The event centered on reviewing the biennial report assessing the implementation of the Head of State’s political program.
Evaluating promises and progress
Dr. Ramatou Mahamat Outouin, Minister-Secretary General of the Government, emphasized the workshop’s significance during her opening address. The event, held at the Radisson Blu hotel, examined the biennial report covering May 2024 to May 2026. This document isn’t just another administrative requirement; it represents a critical moment of accountability for the Chadian people.
« Our gathering today is about measuring how far we’ve come in fulfilling our commitments,» she stated, highlighting President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s vision of transparent governance and citizen-centered public action. The minister stressed the importance of building trust between citizens and their institutions through honest evaluation.
She paid tribute to the teams behind the report’s creation, noting, « Every statistic and indicator represents dedicated individuals who worked tirelessly.» While acknowledging the challenges of such accountability exercises, she emphasized their necessity for identifying both achievements and areas needing improvement.
Beyond compliments: a rigorous examination
The minister made it clear that this wasn’t about praise or blame, but about understanding reality. She called for collective reflection on both successes and obstacles ahead. « Farmers, teachers, entrepreneurs – all citizens deserve to see tangible results from government efforts,» she remarked, underscoring the human dimension behind every policy and statistic.
Concluding her speech, Dr. Ramatou Mahamat Outouin described the process as both technical and deeply human. She urged participants to approach the report with unwavering rigor and responsibility, stating, « This document must faithfully reflect our journey – the progress made and the work still ahead.» With these words, she officially inaugurated the workshop proceedings.
