The 23-year-old attacking talent, previously courted by reigning English champions Arsenal, is expected to commit to a six-year deal with the West London club. Should Chelsea finalize this deal for 117 million pounds, they would not only establish a new internal club record – surpassing their previous highest outlay by 11 million – but also set a new benchmark for the Premier League itself. This new threshold would eclipse the recent record set by Manchester City, who acquired England international and World Cup starter Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for 116 million pounds.
Rogers had recently extended his contract with Aston Villa, originally set to expire at the end of 2024, through to 2030, becoming one of the top earners under manager Unai Emery.

In the semi-final elimination against Argentina (1-2), he provided the crucial assist for Anthony Gordon’s opening goal. The forward is scheduled to play in the third-place match against France this Saturday, with kick-off at 11 PM Central European Time.
