Niamey, 4 June 2026 — The Prytanée Militaire de Niamey (PMN) recognized its top-performing students during a prestigious awards ceremony marking the close of the 2025-2026 academic year. Held under the distinguished patronage of Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General de Division Salaou Barmou, the event celebrated the academic achievements of the institution’s most dedicated cadets.

The ceremony honored students who secured first place in their respective classes, spanning from sixth grade to the final year of secondary education. This initiative underscores the PMN’s commitment to fostering merit, perseverance, and discipline—core values embedded in its rigorous training programs.

Prominent figures attended the event, including members of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP), the Vice-President of the Council for National Rebuilding (CCR), accredited diplomats and consular representatives in Niger, the Governor of the Niamey region, senior officials from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), alongside proud parents and invited guests.

 

Outstanding academic achievements

The awards highlight the PMN’s unwavering academic standards. This year’s top performers demonstrated exceptional dedication, with the highest averages recorded across all levels. In the lower secondary cycle, the leading student achieved a remarkable 18.55 out of 20, while in the upper secondary cycle, the top cadet scored 17.44 out of 20. These results reflect both the students’ hard work and the exceptional guidance provided by the teaching staff and institutional leadership.
