With the FIFA World Cup in North America occupying much of his summer, Bradley Barcola remains a hot topic in European football circles. The Paris Saint-Germain winger, whose contract runs until June 2028, has caught the attention of Liverpool FC, who are actively seeking to bolster their attacking options.

Liverpool’s summer transfer strategy takes shape

While PSG’s attacking lineup appears stable with players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, Senny Mayulu, and Ousmane Dembélé set to remain, uncertainty lingers around Gonçalo Ramos, Ibrahim Mbaye, Kang-in Lee, and notably Bradley Barcola. Liverpool’s interest in the 21-year-old has been well-documented, and the appointment of Victor Muñoz as the club’s new sporting director is unlikely to dampen these discussions.

Yan Diomande emerges as top target

Liverpool’s primary focus this summer is Yan Diomande, a pacey winger who has also drawn interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The Ivorian international, currently plying his trade at RB Leipzig, hinted at his openness to a move while speaking after Côte d’Ivoire’s World Cup opener against Ecuador (1-0). « I don’t know, I’m a Leipzig player, but why not? My agents will handle it. Right now, my focus is on the World Cup—it only happens every four years. I’m enjoying it to the fullest and will see what happens afterward », he remarked.

Alternative options under consideration

Facing a hefty €100 million price tag from Leipzig and stiff competition from PSG, Liverpool is exploring additional avenues. Alongside Barcola, other potential recruits include Said El Mala (1. FC Köln), Yankuba Minteh (Brighton & Hove Albion), and Matías Fernández-Pardo (Lille). These players represent viable alternatives as the Reds look to refresh their squad ahead of the new season.
