Mali takes decisive step to combat Sahel terrorism with financial incentives
In a bold move to strengthen national security and counter terrorism across the Sahel region, the Malian government has approved financial bounties for seven high-profile terrorist leaders. Each bounty varies in amount, ranging from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs, rewarding critical information leading to their capture or elimination.
The Ministry of Security issued a formal statement declaring, « The Government of Mali offers financial rewards to individuals providing verified, actionable intelligence that enables the arrest or neutralization of the listed individuals. »
The list includes prominent figures such as Iyad Ag Ghali (2 billion FCFA), Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré, known as Amadou Kouffa (1.5 billion FCFA), Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo, alias Doulé Bib de Nampala (1.5 billion FCFA), and Alghabass Ag Intallah (1 billion FCFA).
Security authorities emphasize that these individuals are primary targets due to their alleged roles in orchestrating and executing terrorist attacks that have destabilized peace and endangered lives and property across Mali.
Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and assist national defense and security forces by sharing any credible information that could aid in locating these fugitives.
