Diplomatic meeting paves the way for peace efforts

The signing ceremony followed a high-level diplomatic meeting chaired by Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Foreign Minister and President of the Al Qods Committee, alongside Abdeltif Loudyi, Delegate Minister to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration. Also in attendance were senior military officials, including the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie.

The delegation from the Gaza Peace Council and the Commander of the ISF were received to discuss the details of Morocco’s contribution. This engagement aligns with the Kingdom’s founding role in the Gaza Peace Council, as outlined in the royal directives announced during the council’s inaugural meeting in Washington, D.C., under the leadership of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Morocco’s commitment to international peacekeeping

During the discussions, Moroccan officials emphasized the Kingdom’s long-standing commitment to peacekeeping operations under the United Nations umbrella. They highlighted the country’s strategic initiatives in regional integration, which have contributed to security and social progress in the region.

Morocco’s participation in the ISF will include the deployment of high-ranking officers from the FAR to the ISF joint command, as well as personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the National Security Directorate (DGSN). Additionally, the Kingdom will establish a military field hospital to support humanitarian and medical efforts in Gaza.

In response, leaders from the Gaza Peace Council and the ISF commended Morocco’s decision, recognizing the Kingdom’s expertise in peacekeeping and its dedication to fostering stability and security in the Middle East.

A step toward lasting peace and security

The agreement signed between Morocco and the ISF outlines the technical and operational aspects of the Kingdom’s involvement. It reflects a shared commitment to creating a climate of peace and security in Gaza through concrete humanitarian and security actions.

This landmark decision underscores Morocco’s role as a key player in international peace efforts and reinforces its position as a stabilizing force in the region.

This development marks a pivotal moment in Morocco’s ongoing efforts to contribute to global peace and security.
