Real Madrid set to shock football world with Cucurella signing post-2026 World Cup
Real Madrid’s transformation is gathering pace. After a disappointing season, Florentino Perez—recently re-elected president—is pushing for a radical overhaul. Following Mourinho’s appointment as head coach, the club is accelerating its transfer plans.
Big-name signings expected after the 2026 World Cup
A preliminary agreement has been secured for Marc Cucurella, a priority target for Mourinho at left-back. The 27-year-old will leave Chelsea, with his transfer set to be finalized once the World Cup concludes. The deal is reportedly valued at around €50 million.
The Spanish giants are not stopping there. Bernardo Silva, whose contract at Manchester City expires soon, and Ibrahima Konaté—also out of contract at Liverpool—are also set to join Real Madrid after the tournament. Additionally, Dutch right-back Denzel Dumfries, currently at Inter Milan, is another target in the club’s sights.
