Historic milestone. Royal Air Maroc launched a direct route from Casablanca to Los Angeles this Sunday, marking the first non-stop connection between Africa and the US West Coast.

The inaugural flight departed Mohammed V International Airport at 04:00 local time, completing the 12-hour journey to California.

This new service coincides with the 250th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Morocco and the United States, as well as the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in which the Atlas Lions are competing.

“This route is a historic milestone for Royal Air Maroc and for African air connectivity,” said Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of RAM. “By bringing Morocco closer to the American West Coast, we affirm our role and commitment to promoting Morocco on the global stage.”

+ Three weekly flights to boost Casablanca hub +

The new service operates three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays using latest-generation wide-body aircraft. Departures from Casablanca are scheduled at 04:00, arriving in Los Angeles at 08:20 local time. Return flights leave California at 10:20 and land in Casablanca the following day at 05:25.

This expansion is part of Royal Air Maroc’s development plan signed with the Moroccan government in July 2023. It aims to strengthen Casablanca’s position as a major aviation hub between Africa, Europe, and the Americas, while meeting strong demand from the diaspora, tourists, business travelers, and football fans.

With this launch, RAM reinforces its presence in North America, adding to existing direct services to New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal, and Toronto.
