The newly appointed Prime Minister of Senegal, Ahmadou Al Amine Mohamed Lô, has unveiled a 30-member cabinet reshuffle, notably excluding representatives from the PASTEF-Les Patriotes party, despite its majority in the national assembly.

This executive restructuring comes amid a broader political realignment, with the integration of both technocratic and political figures into the new team. Hours before the official list was made public, former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko confirmed that his party would not participate in the government.

The Prime Minister outlined a clear mandate for the new team, describing it as a mission-driven government focused on measurable outcomes. The cabinet blends political and technical expertise while prioritizing youth and women’s representation. He emphasized a shift toward institutional coherence and mobilizing national and diaspora talent.

The new lineup retains several key ministers from the previous administration, including:

  • Cheikh Diba in Economy,
  • Cheikh Niane in Foreign Affairs,
  • Cheikh Tidiane Dièye in Water and Sanitation,
  • Moustapha Guirassy in National Education,
  • Ibrahima Sy in Health,
  • Moussa Bala Fofana in Urban Planning,
  • Yankhoba Diémé in Armed Forces,
  • Déthié Fall in Infrastructure, and
  • Bakary Sarr in Communication.

This government reshuffle follows President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s appointment of Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô as Prime Minister on May 26, succeeding Ousmane Sonko, who was elected President of the Senegalese National Assembly.
