The government of Bénin is moving forward with the formal establishment of the National Order of Civil Engineers. In a recent official statement, Georges Alé, the Minister of Living Environment and Transport, announced an extension for the registration period for professionals seeking to join the Order’s official roll.
This administrative decision follows the guidelines set out in Article 65 of Decree No. 2021-300, dated June 9, 2021, which governs the organization of the civil engineering profession within the country. The ministry confirmed that the timeframe for launching the enrollment process for the National Order of Civil Engineers of Bénin has been officially prolonged.
This census is open to all Beninese civil engineers, whether they are currently practicing within Bénin or residing abroad. To be eligible, applicants must hold a design engineering degree, a professional master’s degree recognized by both the State and CAMES, or an equivalent qualification. The registration call spans various technical fields, including building and public works, transport infrastructure, geotechnics, hydraulics, energy systems, sanitation, environmental engineering, as well as electronics, computer science, and telecommunications.
Qualified professionals are urged to complete their registration on the official digital platform within thirty days from the signing of the ministerial communiqué. By introducing this extension, the government aims to ensure that all eligible experts can comply with the current regulations, facilitating the successful creation of the very first official roll of the National Order of Civil Engineers of Bénin.
