The Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Christopher Raia, conducted an official visit on Wednesday to the International Police Cooperation Centre (IPCC). This hub brings together law enforcement and security officials from nations participating in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The high-profile visit aligns with the comprehensive security framework established to safeguard every match of the upcoming tournament. During his stay, Raia held a dedicated session with representatives from Morocco’s national security agencies, including the Directorate General of National Security and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST).
Expressing deep appreciation, the FBI official commended Morocco for its active role in securing the event and its contributions across all tournament phases. He emphasized that the FBI views the Kingdom as a dependable partner, backed by globally recognized expertise and credibility in security operations.
Addressing security delegates from participating countries, Raia underscored the critical need for international collaboration and multilateral intelligence-sharing. He described the security challenge of protecting 78 matches over nearly two weeks as monumental—one that could only be met through robust global cooperation.
The FBI Deputy Director also noted a rise in thwarted threats on American soil, attributing this success to the accuracy of shared intelligence and unwavering support from allied nations.
