Waly Diouf Bodian, a political leader of Pastef, has strongly reacted to recent statements by Professor Mary Teuw Niang concerning verbal violence and respect in public debate. The politician criticizes the former Minister of Higher Education for his lack of coherence after attacks directed at Pastef leader Ousmane Sonko.
Bodian categorically rejects the academic’s calls for calm and condemns his institutional stance. “After calling President Ousmane Sonko an impostor, Mary Teuw Niang now comes to lecture us about verbal violence and respect for others. It’s too late, Professor,” declared Waly Diouf Bodian. Continuing his attack, the political figure added: “Your literary nonsense on Sundays no longer works with us patriots. We do not respect those who disrespect Ousmane Sonko.” He concluded by accusing Mary Teuw Niang of having abandoned the nation’s value system to align with the government.
