The newly appointed Gabonese Ambassador to Tunisia, Pierre Ntsiet Ngolo, has outlined his strategic diplomatic roadmap in an exclusive interview following his accreditation in November 2025. With over two decades of diplomatic experience, Ambassador Ntsiet Ngolo has pledged unwavering commitment to strengthening Gabon-Tunisia relations, while ensuring the welfare of Gabonese nationals residing in the North African nation.
Since assuming his duties, the ambassador has prioritized fostering unity within the Gabonese community in Tunisia. This effort has led to the creation of two key associations: the Gabonese Community Council in Tunisia (Conseil des Gabonais de Tunisie – CGT), which brings together professionals, students, and families under the banner of solidarity and mutual support, and the Association of Gabonese Students and Interns in Tunisia (Association des Étudiants et Stagiaires Gabonais en Tunisie – AESGT), dedicated to supporting the academic ambitions of young Gabonese residents.

The ambassador highlighted the success of the first edition of the Gabon Cultural Days, held in April, which showcased the growing cohesion among the community through shared values of solidarity and brotherhood.
Strengthening bilateral cooperation
One of the ambassador’s top priorities is deepening academic and healthcare partnerships between Gabon and Tunisia. Tunisia hosts a significant number of Gabonese students and interns, many of whom face administrative hurdles, particularly regarding residence permits and tuition payments. Ambassador Ntsiet Ngolo has called for urgent action from Gabonese authorities to address these challenges, emphasizing the need for timely financial support through the National Scholarship Agency (ANBG).
Additionally, healthcare cooperation remains a cornerstone of the bilateral relationship. A recent agreement between Gabon’s National Health Insurance Fund (CNAMGS) and Tunisian medical providers strengthens medical evacuation protocols, leveraging Tunisia’s advanced healthcare infrastructure.
Economic diplomacy takes center stage
The ambassador underscored the importance of economic diplomacy, positioning both nations for mutual growth. He welcomed recent economic missions from Tunisian operators, which he believes will lead to new investment partnerships and joint ventures. «Our goal is to consolidate existing achievements while exploring new avenues for co-development, tapping into each country’s unique expertise and potential,» he stated.
Ambassador Ntsiet Ngolo also expressed pride in the consular assistance mechanisms he has established for Gabonese residents, noting a significant shift in community sentiment from abandonment to renewed confidence. His initiatives have laid a strong foundation for sustainable, long-term collaboration between Gabon and Tunisia.
