Gambia and Morocco strengthen strategic ties with Barrow’s message in Rabat
Diplomatic relations between Gambia and Morocco have entered a new phase of partnership in Rabat. Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, welcomed his Gambian counterpart, Sering Modou Njie, who arrived as a special envoy of President Adama Barrow.
The highlight of the visit was the handover of a letter written by Gambia’s president and addressed to His Majesty Mohammed VI, underscoring the strong communication between the two heads of state.
Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in key sectors, with both sides emphasizing the excellence of current relations and shared commitment to mutual growth.
Gambia expresses gratitude for Morocco’s socio-economic support
Following the meeting, Gambia’s top diplomat addressed the media to convey his government’s and people’s deep appreciation to the Moroccan monarch.
Sering Modou Njie praised Morocco’s enduring support for Gambia’s socio-economic development, noting that this commitment has translated into tangible results through numerous bilateral agreements and strategic projects benefiting local communities. These joint initiatives are closely aligned with the strategic guidelines of the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad.
A shared vision for stronger regional cooperation
During his remarks, Gambia’s minister stressed his country’s firm determination to further strengthen cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.
He highlighted that current relations are not only excellent but are built on solid foundations of brotherhood, solidarity, and reciprocal interests. This reflects the forward-looking vision shared by Mohammed VI and President Adama Barrow for the prosperity of both nations.
