According to the deputy, the former Prime Minister allegedly made highly critical remarks about Bassirou Diomaye Faye during this call.
During a press briefing held by Pastef-Les Patriotes, Deputy Amadou Ba disclosed what he claims to be the “truth” regarding telephone conversations that reportedly occurred between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré. These exchanges supposedly took place while the current Prime Minister, Sonko, was incarcerated. This revelation further supports Ba’s defense of the head of government amidst controversies surrounding the management of public funds.
The deputy asserted that during this particular call, former Prime Minister Aminata Touré expressed strong criticisms aimed at Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Amadou Ba quoted her as allegedly telling Ousmane Sonko, “Diomaye is incapable of leading this country. If you leave him here, he will not last two years.”
This statement, the parliamentarian believes, stands in stark contrast to Aminata Touré’s current public stances. He accuses her of attempting to “alter history” and rewrite past events to align with shifting political dynamics and power balances.
Despite the escalating tensions between the two political factions, Amadou Ba urged for calm and restraint, advocating for political debate over direct confrontation. He declared, “He is pushing us towards violence, and we will not engage in it,” reaffirming Pastef’s commitment to prioritizing constructive discourse over aggressive clashes.
