The government has released a series of decrees initiating training entrance exams, direct recruitment, professional contests, and selection tests to fill these vacancies.

For the 2026 fiscal year, the State of Cameroun is opening a total of 2,305 positions across various administrative branches. Joseph LE, the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, has officially launched the recruitment phase. On June 4th, 36 specific decrees were published to outline the participation requirements and the distribution of these upcoming roles.

The recruitment plan is divided into several categories. First, standard recruitment accounts for 890 openings. This includes 470 seats for direct entry into sectors such as financial registries, agriculture, mining and geology, civil engineering, livestock and fisheries, telecommunications, and public health. Additionally, 100 spots are reserved for training at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and the National Youth and Sports Centers (CENAJES). The National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) will welcome 220 new recruits, while 100 more positions will be filled through selection tests.

Special recruitment initiatives, mandated by the Head of State for the health and education sectors, account for 1,200 positions. This block includes 1,000 spots for external auditors at the Higher Teacher Training Colleges (ENS) and the Higher Technical Teacher Training Colleges (ENSET). Furthermore, 200 positions are designated for specialist doctors, adding to the 920 health personnel roles already announced in April 2026. For the ENS and ENSET candidates, the Minister specified that applicants must choose their preferred educational institution at the time of filing and will sit for exams in the regional center corresponding to that choice.

Finally, 215 positions are slated for professional advancement through internal competitive exams.

It is important to note that the total number of vacancies for 2026 shows a decrease of 555 positions compared to the 2025 exercise, during which the government offered 2,860 places within the civil service.
