Minister Laurent Esso leads final tributes for Alexis Dipanda Mouelle
A solemn atmosphere filled the Yaoundé General Hospital morgue this Thursday, June 25, 2026, as the nation began its final farewell to a prominent judicial figure.
Acting as the official personal representative of President Paul Biya, the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Laurent Esso, attended the formal ceremony for the removal of the body of Alexis Dipanda Mouelle. The deceased served with distinction as the First President of the Supreme Court of Cameroun.
The ceremony was attended by a cohort of high-level dignitaries. Supporting Laurent Esso was the Minister Delegate to the Ministry of Justice, ensuring a strong representation from the nation’s judicial leadership during the proceedings.
The gathering of officials at the Yaoundé General Hospital morgue also included the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute. Additionally, Jean Nkuete, the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Rdpc, was present to pay his final respects and honor the memory of the illustrious magistrate.
