In a significant diplomatic engagement held in Rabat on Wednesday, Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, hosted Crispin Mbadu Phanzu. The visiting official, who serves as the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Minister Delegate for Francophonie and Congolese Abroad, arrived as a special envoy carrying a formal message from President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to King Mohammed VI.

Strengthening bilateral ties between Morocco and the DRC

Speaking after the high-level consultation, Mbadu Phanzu expressed high regard for the robust and historical cooperation that defines the relationship between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo. He noted that the two nations share a long-standing bond built on mutual respect and shared strategic interests.

The envoy further clarified that his presence in the Moroccan capital is strategically linked to the DRC’s international ambitions. Specifically, his mission aims to advocate for his country’s candidacy for the position of Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), seeking to consolidate support within the global Francophone community.
