The Senate of Cameroon is fully poised to commence its ordinary session for June 2026, scheduled to open tomorrow, June 9, 2026.
In a demonstration of administrative diligence, a comprehensive inspection of the Senate’s facilities at the Economic and Social Council took place this morning, June 8, 2026. The review was spearheaded by the Secretary General of the Senate, M. Gustave Léopold Ngane, who was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General and other senior officials.
This final assessment was conducted to confirm the readiness of all infrastructure crucial for the smooth execution of parliamentary work. The delegation undertook a detailed examination of the conference rooms, the VIP reception lounge, the banquet halls, and the main chamber where the senators will convene for the duration of the session.
Upon concluding the inspection, the Secretary General expressed his complete confidence in the operational preparedness of all the facilities. He affirmed that every logistical and technical detail has been finalized ahead of the session’s inauguration.
Following parliamentary custom, the June ordinary session will primarily focus on deliberations concerning budgetary orientation. It will also feature strategic discussions between the upper house and the Supreme Court’s Court of Accounts, alongside the meticulous review and adoption of various legislative bills.
