The Haute Autorité de la communication (HAC) in Gabon has initiated a decisive measure, suspending the news website Info 241 indefinitely. This action stems from the publication of an article containing inflammatory allegations directed at President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema and his family.

The contentious piece, titled « Lanlaire exposes Oligui: €150,000 offered, compromising videos, bisexuality, 20 billion squandered… », focused on claims made by Anges Landry Mbeng, a Gabonese influencer based in France, widely known as Lanlaire.

The HAC asserted that Info 241’s article featured « injurious, scandalous, and exceptionally harsh statements concerning the person of the President of the Republic and his family ». The regulatory body concluded that the media outlet had committed serious breaches of the law, thereby justifying its immediate suspension.

In a public statement, Info 241, for its part, accused the HAC of making a grave error, claiming the regulatory body acted « without even reviewing the article that triggered its latest impulsive ruling ».

This matter has ignited widespread discussion throughout the nation. Numerous supporters of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema have issued statements, demanding legal prosecution against Lanlaire and all alleged accomplices.
