Following the international conference on the Hajj held this Wednesday in Jeddah under the aegis of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, key recommendations were issued to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2026 pilgrimage. The Chadian delegation at the meeting was led by General Idriss Dokony Adiker, President of the National Office for the Organization of the Pilgrimage (ORGEP).
Strict adherence to Saudi guidelines for Chadian pilgrims
The ORGEP has issued a formal notice to Chadian pilgrims, emphasizing the importance of strictly following all safety, health, and discipline measures set by Saudi authorities. These guidelines are designed to protect pilgrims and maintain the sanctity of the sacred sites.
Prohibited activities in sacred spaces
The notice explicitly forbids any political or partisan religious discussions in hotels and at the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Organizing or participating in such gatherings is also strictly prohibited.
Accommodation and hosting rules
Pilgrims are reminded that no one is allowed to host or accommodate unauthorized individuals in hotels or at any of the ritual sites. This rule is in place to prevent overcrowding and ensure the safety of all participants.
Health and safety precautions amid extreme heat
With temperatures soaring in Saudi Arabia, authorities strongly advise pilgrims to avoid outdoor activities between 10 AM and 4 PM to minimize health risks. Long walks between ritual sites are also discouraged to conserve the physical stamina of pilgrims.
Special provisions for vulnerable pilgrims
The ORGEP has clarified that elderly, sick, or physically challenged pilgrims may delegate the stoning of the pillars (Djamarat) ritual to a representative. This measure aims to accommodate those who may struggle with the physically demanding aspects of the pilgrimage.
Emergency support for pilgrims
In case of emergencies or difficulties, pilgrims are urged to contact the dedicated Saudi emergency hotline at 1966 immediately for assistance.
Call for collective responsibility
The ORGEP has called on all Chadian pilgrims to rigorously observe these measures to ensure their own safety and the seamless execution of the Hajj 2026.
