Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara expressed strong satisfaction with the unprecedented financial mobilization achieved for the country’s next development plan. Speaking after the conclusion of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 funding consultation on July 10, 2026, he highlighted the overwhelming international confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience and growth potential.
The high-level gathering in Abidjan brought together over 2,000 investors from 49 countries, including top representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, private and public enterprises, business associations, and development partners.
Total funding commitments reached $80 billion, equivalent to 47,820 billion F CFA—far surpassing the initial target of 11,138.2 billion F CFA. This massive inflow underscores the global confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s strategic vision for sustainable development.
The NDP 2026-2030 sets an ambitious national agenda: building a stable, ambitious, and inclusive Great Nation. With a projected investment of 114,838.5 billion F CFA—about $209 billion—over five years, the plan relies on 70.2% private sector participation as the driving force behind economic and social transformation.
The strategy prioritizes six key pillars: peace, security, and stability; agriculture and agro-industry; private sector development and industrialization; human capital growth; strategic infrastructure; and governance reform and state modernization. Special emphasis will be placed on empowering Ivorian businesses to lead this transformation.
On the macroeconomic front, the plan aims to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to the ranks of upper-middle-income countries by 2030, targeting a GDP per capita of $4,500 and reducing poverty to below 20%. President Ouattara emphasized the government’s role in translating these financial commitments into tangible progress—more schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, and shared prosperity for all Ivorians.
In his closing remarks, he called for unity, determination, and collective effort: “Together, with confidence and resolve, we will build a Côte d’Ivoire that is ever more prosperous and united.”
