Mr. Jean Pierre HILLAH, the recently appointed Governor for District 403-A2 of Lions Club International, commenced his official regional tour across the four nations within his district, making Côte d’Ivoire his initial stop. On Monday, August 31, 2026, he was formally welcomed at the office of Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, the esteemed Minister of Planning and Development.
District 403-A2 encompasses the territories of Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with five distinct regions situated within Ivorian borders. The core initiatives of Lions Club International primarily concentrate on empowering young people through capacity building and fostering robust environmental protection efforts.
During his visit, the organization reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to actively support the execution of Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious National Development Plan (PND) for the period 2026-2030.
The Minister of Planning and Development highlighted the opportune timing of Governor Hillah’s visit, noting that Côte d’Ivoire had recently embarked on a fresh cycle of its comprehensive National Development Plan.
The PND 2026-2030 embodies the strategic vision of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara, aiming to propel Côte d’Ivoire into the ranks of upper-middle-income nations by the year 2030.
Dr. Diarrassouba also underscored the significant mobilization of various partners rallying behind the PND 2026-2030. He emphasized that the government’s initiatives are meticulously aligned with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
These productive discussions have paved the way for enhanced collaborative efforts specifically targeting critical areas such as youth empowerment, public health, educational advancement, and environmental stewardship.
