Mali’s Ministry of Security and Civil Protection has significantly enhanced the operational capabilities of the nation’s Security Forces, delivering twenty new vehicles and pieces of equipment. This vital acquisition was entirely financed through the national budget, underscoring Mali’s commitment to bolstering its internal security apparatus. The official handover ceremony, held on Friday, July 31, 2026, was presided over by Major General Daoud Aly Mohammedine.

The comprehensive fleet of new assets includes six 60-seater buses, designed to improve troop transport and deployment. Additionally, a robust breakdown vehicle was provided, alongside two 20,000-liter Spiros trucks, essential for various logistical operations. Firefighting capabilities received a major upgrade with eight 4,000-liter fire tanker trucks and three large 50,000-liter pump-tender fire trucks. These crucial resources have been strategically allocated across key branches: the National Police, Civil Protection, National Gendarmerie, National Guard, and the Staff College of Security Forces, ensuring widespread impact on Mali’s security infrastructure.

During the ceremony, Major General Mohammedine emphasized that these procurements directly reflect the unwavering resolve of the Transition President, General of the Army Assimi. The President’s vision, he stated, is to reinforce the operational effectiveness of Mali’s Armed and Security Forces, thereby ensuring a secure environment that aligns with the aspirations of the Malian people. General Mohammedine underscored the critical importance of robust logistics in improving the mobility and responsiveness of security personnel when confronting various threats across the nation.

Brigadier General Boucary Kodio, who serves as the Director General of Civil Protection, affirmed the beneficiaries’ collective pledge to meticulously manage and maintain these new assets.
