Uber is broadening its reach across Morocco by launching operations in Tangier and Agadir. This move aims to bolster the nation’s thriving tourism sector and follows the company’s established presence in Casablanca and Rabat. As Morocco prepares for the 2030 World Cup, the expansion highlights the country’s status as a premier regional travel destination.

With a national goal of attracting 26 million visitors by 2030, the ride-sharing platform intends to provide dependable and efficient transportation. The objective is to enhance the travel experience by offering seamless transit from hotels to major landmarks, ensuring tourists can navigate these cities with ease.

Enhancing mobility for travelers

By entering the Agadir and Tangier markets, the service addresses a rising need for modern mobility solutions. Residents and visitors in these coastal hubs can now access UberX and UberXL options directly through the mobile app, mirroring the services already available in the capital and the economic heart of the country.

Recent data underscores the sector’s momentum, with Morocco recording a historic 19.8 million tourists in 2025—a 14% increase from the previous year. Financial returns from tourism reached 124 billion dirhams between January and November. The growth trend continued into the first quarter of 2026, which saw 4.3 million arrivals, representing a 7% rise compared to the same period in the prior year.
