Côte d’Ivoire’s JOURIE 2026 kicks off with digital education revolution
Abidjan, July 21, 2026 — The Open Days for Research and Innovation in Education (JOURIE 2026) launched Tuesday at the National School of Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSEA) in Abidjan. Organized by the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Training (MENAET), the event centers on the theme: “Digital transformation in education: sustainable solutions for quality schooling”.
Driving systemic change through research and technology
The two-day forum, concluding Wednesday, July 22, 2026, aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and classroom practice. By showcasing cutting-edge digital tools and pedagogical innovations, JOURIE 2026 seeks to enhance educational outcomes across Côte d’Ivoire’s primary, secondary and higher education institutions.
Dr. Inza Meité, Director of Studies, Planning and Statistics (DESPS), highlighted the event’s role in fostering collaborative dialogue. “This is a rare opportunity to align educational policies with rigorous research, ensuring decisions are data-driven and evidence-based,” he stated. The gathering brings together educators, policymakers, researchers and tech innovators to explore how digital solutions can address systemic challenges in education.

The ministry’s commitment to digital integration was underscored by the event’s strategic focus. “Digital technology isn’t just an accessory—it’s a catalyst for equity, efficiency and excellence in our education system,” Dr. Meité emphasized. JOURIE 2026 serves as a platform to present groundbreaking studies, pilot projects and scalable tech-driven interventions designed to democratize access to quality learning.
Kouadio Kouman, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Education, reinforced this vision during the opening ceremony. He described digital transformation as a cornerstone of the government’s reform agenda, enabling evidence-based policymaking. “By harnessing international standards and innovative solutions, we’re building a more inclusive and high-performing Ivorian school system,” he noted.
The forum also addresses critical pillars such as governance, infrastructure development, teacher training and digital inclusion. By uniting diverse stakeholders, JOURIE 2026 aims to accelerate Côte d’Ivoire’s transition toward a future-ready education ecosystem.
