Côte d’Ivoire: energy firm marks 60 years with bold future plans
Corlay Côte d’Ivoire, formerly Texaco, has officially launched celebrations for its 60th anniversary with an event held Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at its Vridi headquarters in Abidjan’s industrial zone.
This milestone kicks off a year-long celebration centered on legacy, innovation, and commitment, with the goal of solidifying the company’s position as a leading energy player across Côte d’Ivoire and the broader West African region.
During the ceremony, attended by partners, employees, and institutional guests, the company’s Managing Director, Alassane Ouattara, reflected on the company’s journey over the past six decades. He highlighted the group’s commitment to modernization to meet evolving energy sector challenges. The 2026-2030 strategic plan focuses on key priorities: strengthening governance, enhancing human capital, accelerating digital transformation, and driving sustainable growth that creates long-term value.
« These six decades represent a story of trust, resilience, and dedication to our customers, partners, and employees. Our ambition is to continue this momentum responsibly, building Corlay for tomorrow, » Mr. Ouattara stated.
Corlay Côte d’Ivoire announced an extensive calendar of activities throughout the year to commemorate this anniversary. Promotional campaigns, community engagement initiatives, and institutional partnerships will deepen the company’s connections with clients and stakeholders.
Mohamed Touré, speaking at the event, emphasized the company’s adaptability in the dynamic energy market. He underscored Corlay’s strategic positioning in industrial, maritime, and lubricant sectors while reaffirming plans to expand its national footprint. With over six decades of operations, the company now boasts more than 60 service stations across Côte d’Ivoire, a lubricant production capacity exceeding 16,000 tons annually, and a strong presence in local and regional markets.
The anniversary celebrations aim to highlight Corlay’s growth and innovation journey while charting a course for future development. The company seeks to reinforce its leadership in maritime refueling, lubricants, and high-value energy solutions, particularly as energy challenges take center stage across West Africa.
The event concluded with a commitment to advancing Corlay’s vision for excellence in Côte d’Ivoire’s energy sector.
