Dembélé back on track ahead of PSG-Arsenal Champions League final
Paris Saint-Germain striker Ousmane Dembélé—the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner—has completed a solo training session in Budapest ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final against Arsenal.
The French international, who suffered a right calf injury during PSG’s 1-2 loss to Paris FC in Ligue 1 on May 17, put in some gentle running drills at the Puskás Aréna to assess his fitness levels.
Speaking to the press after his arrival in Hungary, Dembélé sought to dispel any concerns about his participation. “I wasn’t worried about missing the final,” he stated. “We’ve had two weeks to prepare, and the medical team did an excellent job managing my recovery. I feel 100% fit now, the whole squad is ready, and we’ve approached this match with total confidence. We’re hoping for a great game.”
Later that afternoon, just before team training, Dembélé took to the pitch for a brief self-paced run while teammates focused on shooting drills. There were no visible signs of discomfort, and he seamlessly rejoined the session without further issue.
The 2025 Ballon d’Or winner’s return to action comes at a crucial moment, as PSG prepares to face Arsenal in a high-stakes final under the lights of the Puskás Aréna.
