The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026–2030 Consultative Group, aimed at attracting private investment, kicked off on July 9 in Abidjan at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

Addressing over 700 investors from allied nations, the Prime Minister framed the session as a pivotal moment to unlock the private capital needed to drive Côte d’Ivoire’s growth ambitions. « Today marks another milestone in this consultative process focused on enterprise, investment, and value creation. Our shared goal is to channel private investment into the tools required to realize this development vision, » he stated.

With business leaders, investors, and private sector delegates gathering in force, Beugré Mambé emphasized that the forum serves as a critical bridge between government policy and private sector execution. « You, as our partners, embody the trust placed in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory and its capacity for sustained expansion. Your role is indispensable in translating our vision into a more competitive, job-rich economy, » he added.

The Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to making the private sector the engine of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He highlighted the country’s track record of resilience, citing an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a performance that has cemented its position among Africa’s fastest-growing economies.

« This is a market brimming with opportunity, » he declared. « The initiatives unveiled today will fast-track investments in the PND’s priority sectors: deepening local processing of raw materials to capture added value, expanding critical infrastructure in transport, digitalization, and logistics, and strengthening human capital through innovation and essential services. These steps are vital to building a more productive and inclusive economy. »

He also noted that the first day of the consultative group, dedicated to institutional partners and national strategy presentations, had drawn more than 3,000 delegates from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.

In response, key business figures voiced strong backing for the plan. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Africa Committee of France’s MEDEF, Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Morocco’s Confédération générale des Entreprises (CGEM) President, reaffirmed their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s leadership and pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026–2030.
