On a bright Thursday morning in Abidjan, the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire became the epicenter of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic future as Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé inaugurated the second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026–2030 Consultative Group. The event drew over 700 investors from allied nations, all focused on unlocking the country’s growth potential.

a strategic gathering to propel private investment

The Prime Minister opened the session by framing the meeting as a pivotal moment for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. « This gathering marks a new chapter in our collective effort to harness private investment and drive sustainable value creation, » he stated. « The presence of more than 700 international investors underscores the confidence placed in our nation’s economic trajectory. »

With business leaders, entrepreneurs, and private sector representatives filling the room, Beugré Mambé emphasized that the dialogue was not merely symbolic—it was an actionable platform to align public and private visions for growth. « Your commitment is instrumental in realizing our shared ambition: a more competitive, job-creating economy, » he added.

private sector as the engine of economic progress

The Prime Minister made it clear that the government is placing the private sector at the heart of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic engine. He highlighted the nation’s proven economic resilience, citing an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years. « Côte d’Ivoire is not just growing—it is evolving into one of Africa’s most dynamic economies, » he asserted. « This expansion presents unparalleled opportunities for investors willing to engage with our priority sectors. »

Beugré Mambé outlined the key areas where investment would be critical to the PND’s success: deepening industrialization and local processing of raw materials to add value, modernizing infrastructure across transport, digital technology, and logistics, and investing in human capital, innovation, and essential services. « These sectors are the pillars of our future competitiveness, » he explained. « They will define our ability to attract long-term capital and foster inclusive growth. »

global partners affirm their commitment

Representatives from Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector and international allies took to the podium to echo the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), stressed the importance of private sector leadership in driving the PND forward. « We are ready to mobilize substantial financial commitments to ensure this plan succeeds, » he declared.

International voices also weighed in. The Vice-President of France’s Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF) and the President of Morocco’s Confédération générale des Entreprises (CGEM) joined the Moroccan representative in affirming their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s strategic vision. Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed the organization’s readiness to support the plan through targeted investments. « Côte d’Ivoire’s trajectory is clear, and we are prepared to play our part, » he stated.

a record turnout sets the stage for action

The Prime Minister also reflected on the first day of the Consultative Group, which attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire. This unprecedented engagement, he noted, reflects the global confidence in the PND’s goals and the nation’s ability to deliver on its promises. « Together, we are not just planning for the future—we are building it, » he concluded.
