The military authorities of Chad and the Central African Republic are intensifying their collaborative efforts to bolster security along their shared border. A strategic meeting took place on May 11, led by General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, commander of the joint ChadCentral African Republic force, to assess recent joint operations conducted in the field.

Attended by high-ranking military officials from both nations, the session focused on reviewing the outcomes of operations Al-Hamamia 1 and Al-Hamamia 2, as well as addressing emerging security challenges in key border areas.

Discussions also centered on devising enhanced tactics to strengthen the presence of defense and security forces in regions vulnerable to cross-border threats. A key highlight was the endorsement of the operational blueprint for an upcoming mission, Sentinelle, proposed by the G5 cell.

The new plan involves deploying multiple military units supported by fixed and mobile surveillance posts. Its primary goals include tightening monitoring of suspicious movements, accelerating joint response times, and reinforcing security cooperation between the two countries.

According to the commander, this initiative aims to safeguard communities inhabiting the border regions more effectively and tackle the region’s persistent security hurdles with greater efficiency.
