In a significant move to modernize urban mobility, the municipality of Kétou has announced that motorcycle taxi drivers must now wear official uniforms. The reform, which spans all six administrative districts of the commune, aims to tackle several challenges. Registration and enrollment timeline
To facilitate this transition, an enrollment phase has been scheduled to take place from July 6 to July 20, 2026. During this two-week window, drivers are required to visit their respective district administrative secretariats. To complete the registration and qualify for the official uniform, operators must present a valid form of identification.
Strict enforcement and public cooperation
Following the conclusion of the enrollment period, the rules will be strictly enforced. Only those drivers who have successfully registered and are wearing the prescribed attire will be permitted to operate within the city limits. Local authorities have made it clear that any individual found flouting these regulations will face legal penalties as dictated by current laws.
Furthermore, residents are being encouraged to play an active role in this reform by choosing to ride only with officially recognized and uniformed drivers.
