The Malian branch of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema held the national preselection phase for the 3rd edition of the prestigious Hadith Nabawi Acharif memorization contest on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Hosted at the foundation’s headquarters in Banankabougou, the event concluded with the selection of three exceptional candidates who will represent Mali on the global stage against participants from 49 other nations.

This competition aligns with the strategic recommendations set forth by the Superior Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema. A total of 50 candidates, representing various madrasas and Quranic memorization centers from Bamako and other regions of Mali, participated in this high-level selection process.

Through this initiative, the foundation aims to encourage African youth to deepen their understanding of prophetic teachings. The primary objective is to promote the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and moderation as conveyed through these sacred texts.

The participants competed across three specialized categories:

  • Category 1 (40 Hadiths – Elementary Level): This distinction was awarded to Ahmad Sow.
  • Category 2 (30 Hadiths – Intermediate Level): Mouhamad Diallo secured the first place in this division.
  • Category 3 (30 Hadiths – Superior Level): The top honor in this advanced group went to Boubacar Traoré.
