Aminata Touré assesses Ousmane Sonko’s dismissal from the premiership
During a recent press briefing, Aminata Touré, the general supervisor of the Diomaye Président coalition, shared her perspective on the removal of former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko from his position.
According to Aminata Touré, Ousmane Sonko‘s stint leading the government was marked by a lack of results, which ultimately necessitated his departure. She pointed out with irony that despite being entrusted with the responsibilities of the Prime Minister’s office and various administrative files, he was unable to achieve meaningful progress, leading to his dismissal.
In her address, Aminata Touré emphasized that genuine leadership involves effectively addressing the concerns of the people of Sénégal. She argued that true bravery in politics is demonstrated through competence, strategic planning, and the use of one’s professional network to find solutions. She criticized the approach of holding significant power for two years without delivering tangible improvements to the daily lives of citizens.
