Reactivating the Kuwait-Casablanca flight route

During the session, the long-standing and excellent relations between Morocco and Kuwait were highlighted as a foundation for future projects. A major point of discussion was the restoration of direct flights between Kuwait and Casablanca. It was confirmed that Royal Air Maroc is actively working to relaunch this essential route as soon as its new fleet of long-haul aircraft is delivered.

Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Sabah also emphasized the need to prepare for a surge in air traffic ahead of the 2030 World Cup. With Morocco co-hosting the prestigious tournament alongside Spain and Portugal, both countries are looking to accommodate the expected influx of tourists visiting the kingdom and the wider Gulf region.

The assembly concluded with the election of new leadership for the 2026-2028 term, including members of the executive council and technical committees. Furthermore, Khalid Cherkaoui was officially appointed as the new Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, marking a new chapter for the institution’s regional governance.
