During a high-level meeting in Huelva, Spain, Younes Sekkouri, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, detailed Morocco’s forward-thinking framework for migration management. This strategy is anchored in the principles of solidarity, mutual responsibility, and a deep-seated respect for human dignity.

A human-centric approach to mobility

Speaking at the forum titled “Migration Governance and Circular Migration between Morocco and Spain: Keys to Beneficial Cooperation,” Sekkouri emphasized that this humanitarian-focused policy is the direct result of the vision established by King Mohammed VI. This royal perspective prioritizes human capital within public policy, viewing migration not just as a challenge, but as a catalyst for economic expansion.

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted that mobility serves as a vital bridge for skill transfers and fosters closer relationships between different populations. By placing individuals at the center of the agenda, Morocco aims to transform migration into a sustainable engine for development and international cooperation.
