Algeria and Chad formalized an agreement on Thursday in N’Djamena, outlining streamlined procedures to accelerate joint infrastructure projects in the public works sector.
The pact reinforces bilateral cooperation and expedites the implementation of memoranda signed earlier this year, according to a statement from Algeria’s Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure.

The accord was signed by Algeria’s Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui, and Chad’s Minister of Infrastructure, Road Unblocking and Maintenance, Amir Idriss Kourda. It took place during a coordination meeting in N’Djamena on the second day of a working visit by the Algerian delegation to Chad. Attendees included the Director-General of Algeria’s Agency for International Cooperation and Development, the Algerian Ambassador to Chad, and senior executives from the Cosider Group and Algeria’s National Public Works Company (SNTP).
On the Chadian side, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and top officials. The Chadian minister highlighted the “rapid pace of progress” in implementing bilateral agreements, citing tangible advancements since the April 22 accords were signed in Algiers. He emphasized the value of reciprocal technical visits and the initiation of feasibility studies for the trans-Saharan highway crossing Chadian territory.
