During the encounter, the Moroccan envoy presented a congratulatory message from His Majesty King Mohammed VI, acknowledging Fujimori’s election victory.

In a decisive statement, Fujimori’s team underscored Peru’s commitment to the Moroccan government’s stance, emphasizing full backing for the Plan d’autonomie—a proposal recognized by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 as the foundation for resolving the regional dispute over the Sahara.
