The President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, has conveyed his deepest condolences following the passing of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, the esteemed Khalife of the Khassim Mbacké family in Guinguinéo, who passed away on July 9, 2026.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Sonko paid tribute to the revered religious leader, honoring his legacy and extending his sympathies to the bereaved family, the Grand Khalife of the Mouride Brotherhood, and the entire Senegalese people.
« I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, the Khalife of the Khassim Mbacké family in Guinguinéo, » Sonko wrote. « His warmth, hospitality, and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. »
Reflecting on his personal encounters with the late leader, Sonko recalled multiple meetings during his visits to Guinguinéo, where Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké consistently demonstrated genuine affection and generosity.
