The U.S. President emphasized in his communication that «the United States recognizes Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara and supports the Moroccan autonomy proposal as a serious, credible, and realistic framework for a just and sustainable resolution.»
He warned that alternative approaches would only «perpetuate the status quo,» calling such outcomes «unacceptable.» The President stressed that «this dispute must end now,» vowing that the United States would continue to drive progress toward a resolution. He highlighted the urgency of the matter, stating that «the United States will keep pushing for a breakthrough in the coming months.»
In his congratulatory remarks to the Moroccan monarch and people, the U.S. leader reflected on «250 years of shared history and enduring friendship between the United States and Morocco,» describing the bond as «built on trust, mutual respect, and shared values.»
The message also praised King Mohammed VI for his «wise leadership,» describing him as «a pillar of stability» in the region. The U.S. President commended Morocco’s pivotal role in advancing peace, combating extremism, and safeguarding regional security—particularly through the historic Abraham Accords. He underscored the kingdom’s contributions to global stability and counterterrorism efforts.
Looking ahead, the U.S. President announced plans to deepen collaboration in the Sahel to enhance security and combat transnational threats. He outlined a strategic partnership aimed at fostering economic and social development, not only in Morocco but also within the Western Sahara territory.
