The Chadian government has escalated its battle against human trafficking, particularly targeting the exploitation of women and children. A key step involves the strict enforcement of current legislation, reinforced by a newly issued circular to security and judicial leaders nationwide.

Human trafficking remains a severe violation of human rights, frequently involving coercion into sexual exploitation or forced labor. As a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, Chad has implemented additional measures, including Ordinance No. 006/PR/2018 and Law No. 12/PR/2018, to combat this scourge.

Under the new directives, authorities are required to conduct swift investigations, document findings in official reports, and ensure cases are promptly transferred to relevant courts. All incidents must also be reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Commission Against Human Trafficking for meticulous monitoring and follow-up.

Provincial delegates have been tasked with overseeing the strict implementation of these guidelines. This coordinated effort aims to establish a robust national database, laying the groundwork for a more effective anti-trafficking strategy across Chad.
