President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno led a general security meeting on Thursday, July 9, just hours after returning to the capital following an official mission to Abu Dhabi.
The meeting, which underscores the importance of security issues, brought together the country’s top security officials, including chiefs of defense and security forces.
The gathering reviewed the current state of national security. The President and attendees examined security dynamics along borders, efforts to counter asymmetric threats, maintaining public order, and protecting citizens’ lives across the entire territory.
Following presentations by senior military leaders, President Deby gave strategic and operational instructions. These directives aim to anticipate emerging threats, boost the effectiveness of on-the-ground security operations, and solidify the country’s stability.
