During a high-level meeting in Rabat, Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kacou Adom, reaffirmed his country’s unwavering commitment to supporting Morocco’s royal-led initiatives aimed at accelerating Africa’s development.

The Ivorian diplomat emphasized, «Côte d’Ivoire fully endorses these initiatives and will collaborate closely with Morocco to ensure their successful implementation in alignment with His Majesty’s vision.»

Strengthening Morocco-Côte d’Ivoire economic ties

Kacou Adom highlighted the robust and multifaceted nature of Morocco-Côte d’Ivoire cooperation, noting the pivotal role of the Moroccan private sector in driving economic growth and infrastructure development in Côte d’Ivoire. «Moroccan businesses are actively contributing to Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation,» he stated.

The two nations also agreed to enhance the Economic Impetus Group, a joint initiative designed to foster greater dynamism and accelerate progress. «We will reconvene to assess its performance and explore ways to amplify its impact,» Adom added.

Morocco lauds Côte d’Ivoire’s consistent stance on Sahara issue

Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, praised Côte d’Ivoire for its steadfast support regarding the Sahara dispute, calling it a «strategic ally» in this critical matter. «Your country’s position has consistently earned appreciation from His Majesty the King, the Moroccan people, and all segments of society,» he remarked.

Bourita further underscored Côte d’Ivoire’s significance as a key bilateral partner for Morocco, both regionally and continentally. «Côte d’Ivoire is not only a major regional player but also a linchpin in advancing royal initiatives, including the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline to Europe—a project of paramount importance to His Majesty,» he explained.

The pipeline, Bourita noted, is advancing rapidly, with West African leaders endorsing the intergovernmental agreement, marking a crucial step toward its realization.

Partnership set to deepen across political and economic fronts

This meeting underscored the deepening ties between Rabat and Abidjan, reinforcing a partnership built on shared political alignment, economic collaboration, and regional cooperation. Côte d’Ivoire’s ongoing support for Morocco’s Sahara sovereignty, its active participation in key initiatives, and its role as a regional economic driver solidify its status as one of Morocco’s most trusted partners on the continent.
