The Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, has announced a significant promotional sales initiative in the city of Yaoundé.

This large-scale commercial operation, organized by the Ministry of Commerce, is set to take place over several weeks at the Boulevard du 20 mai. The event focuses on the sale of essential consumer products at discounted rates.

Scheduled to run from June 22 to September 30, 2026, the exhibition at the Boulevard du 20 mai serves as a central hub for residents to access high-demand goods at reduced prices.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, this initiative is being carried out in collaboration with socially responsible enterprises. It aligns with the government’s broader strategy to combat the high cost of living. The campaign aims to support the purchasing power of citizens during the summer holiday period while also helping parents prepare for the 2026-2027 school year by ensuring school supplies are available at highly competitive prices.

Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana further noted that while the current focus is on the capital city and other major urban hubs, the program is intended to reach every corner of the country. This nationwide expansion will be facilitated through the deployment of mobile promotional caravans designed to bring these savings to all regions.
