Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) revealed on Thursday that coordinated military operations in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the elimination of nearly a hundred armed combatants. The operations, conducted alongside allied partners, marked another phase in the ongoing campaign against militant groups operating in the area.
According to a statement, the targeted forces included members of the coalition known as Al-Nusra for Islam and Muslims and the Front for the Liberation of Azawad (FLA). The military confirmed that 13 airstrikes were executed, leading to the destruction of six armored vehicles and one pickup truck used by the militants.
Military officials emphasized that these operations took place on Tuesday and are part of a broader strategy to dismantle armed groups across the country. They reiterated their commitment to pursuing these efforts with discipline and unwavering resolve, in close collaboration with their partners.
Partners contribute to military successes
The African Corps, in a statement shared on X, reported that significant damage was inflicted on militant convoys, with several vehicles set ablaze. The Corps also disclosed that one of its drones successfully targeted a militant vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment, further crippling their operations.
The Russian Africa Corps echoed these developments, describing the joint efforts as highly effective. They confirmed that the operations would continue, focusing on dismantling militant strongholds and seizing their resources. The Corps reaffirmed its dedication to supporting Malian forces in eradicating armed threats in the region.
